Choose your thoughts Wisely

There are endless quotes on this same topic which basically boil down to the phrase “Our thoughts and choices shape our reality”


We cannot choose everything that happens to us but we have the power to choose our responses and choose the way we think about things (perspective). We can consciously choose to think about the things we desire in life, who we want to be, how we want to show up in this world for our friends and family, how we can help to serve others, show gratitude, the positive things that bring fulfilment. We can also choose to focus on the negative and be the victims of our circumstances, have self-limiting beliefs, and negative self-talk. Humans instinctively seek out patterns which create habits. If we are constantly thinking negative (pattern) then we either consciously or subconsciously seek out the negative in things and situations (habit). Everyone has both negative and positive thoughts, it’s what we choose to do with them that makes all the difference. Do not give your negative thoughts more time than they deserve. If a negative thought comes up acknowledge it, but don’t let it take over your pattern of thinking, do not let the negative into the driver seat of your mind. Always bring yourself back to a positive mindset, your true self.


I was self-deprecating more than I should have been growing up. In sports or other activities even if I was pretty good at something I would down play it or have negative self-talk in certain social situations. Having this type of mindset limits potential. You cannot achieve great things without setting your intention (thoughts) towards them & you cannot live a happy fulfilled life with a negative mindset (thoughts). Choose your thoughts wisely and your reality will begin to reflect them.
